March 29, 2019 – Great Expectations: Employee Behaviors and the Employer’s Call to Action

The Nashville chapter members gathered at Richland Country Club to gain insights into employee thoughts on retirement and the perceived role of their employer in helping them save for their goals. Our keynote speaker Dianne Gallagher presented the results of American Century Investments’ 6th Annual Survey of Retirement Savers and shared personal experiences in the retirement plan industry.

Our nonprofit spotlight was on Rock the Street, Wall Street with founder Maura Cunningham highlighting their efforts to educate and empower young women in high schools across the country to enter careers in finance by engaging female financial professionals as teachers and building confidence at an early age.

We’d like to thank Lori Williams, Field Vice President with OneAmerica, for serving as co-chair of our local WiPN chapter for the past two years alongside Mary Jo Innis, President of The Row Group. We welcomed new co-chair Caroline Galbraith, Wealth Management Advisor with HawsGoodwin Financial, and recognized new committee members Nancy Mullen, Senior Manager with Kraft CPAs, Jennifer McConnell, Regional Sales Associate with July Business Services, and Ashlee Henson, Wealth Management Advisor with HawsGoodwin Financial.

Finding Your Recipe – 2/1/18

As the New Year began and everyone was setting their New Year’s resolutions, the Nashville Chapter welcomed Dr. Rona Howenstine, Vice President for Operational Excellence and Transformation at OneAmerica. Dr. Howenstine talked about aligning our goals with our purpose and passion and encouraged us to take the action needed to achieve what we want.  Many thanks to our sponsors, OneAmerica, Kraft CPAs and Kraft Asset Management.

Nashville Chapter – When Success is Not Enough

The Nashville chapter members attended a lunch-and-learn at Richland Country Club with presentations on Success and Financial Wellness.

In the keynote presentation titled, “When Success Is Not Enough,” Pat Shea walked the room through her ten tips to finding happiness instead of success. Highlighting the presentation were stories of her highs and lows along with lessons learned on the way to happiness.

Following her presentation, Brandon Shea (not related to Pat Shea), from T. Rowe Price, walked the group through financial wellness data from the T. Rowe Price retirement plans. Then focused on what listeners can do for their retirement readiness.

Nashville Top Golf Members-Only Event June 2018

Fifteen members of the Nashville WiPN Chapter got to practice their golf swing over the Nashville skyline at the Pop-Up event at Top Golf.

Vinh Tran of Lincoln Financial and Robert Couzzo of J.P. Morgan Asset Managment co-sponsored the event. Along with golfing, our chapter enjoyed drinks, appetizers and birthday cake celebrating the birthday of Vinh, our co-sponsor.

The member-exclusive event took place on June 28, 2018, at 2 p.m.

New WiPN Nashville Chapter Kicks Off Strong

The first Nashville event was a success, attendees heard from Robin Green, with the help of Principal’s Cindy Kennedy, she efficiently delivered her presentation, and sill made it on time to her flight.

Mary Jo Innis and Lori Williams, co-chairs for the Nashville chapter of WiPN introduced Board member, Christina Stauffer. She spoke about the organization nationally and the benefits of joining locally.

The charity of the event was Soles4Souls, and the local organization appreciates the shoe contributions by attendees.
