We welcome women from all segments of the retirement industry and at all career stages. By affiliating yourself with the Columbus Regional Chapter of WiPN, you will be able forge new connections at the local level and participate in professional development and networking opportunities throughout the year.
All June in-person WiPN chapter and national events are being postponed. Webinars are continuing as scheduled. Thank you for your understanding.
Initially slated as a live event, Don’t Get Burned Out with Ria Dark, CEO and Founder of 2Rogues Media Group and Clinical Director of Comprehensive Benefits Consultants, LLC still rocked as a webinar on Thursday, April 2nd.
Ria has a uniquely energizing and compassionate quality and provides her programming in a manner which she describes as “edutainment.” Ms. Dark is the producer and host of You Inc. and its companion show, YouTune, weekly FM radio shows that are part wellness and part talk show with esteemed celebrities on how to build your brand— You, found on Central Ohio’s NPR Station Also, put the link under WiPN webinars. on WCBE and podcasts on iTunes and SoundCloud under You Inc. Radio.
During this webinar, Ria discussed the signs of burnout, identified some natural and artificial resources to deal with burnout and helped attendees institute a plan of action. There was great interaction and feedback from the attendees during the webinar on their own signs of burnout and what they are doing to deal with it especially during this current working from home state. Ria will be joining forces with WiPN again in August during the second part of this series on the topic, Taking Charge of Your Life – more details will be sent out soon!
Huge thanks to Ria and our sponsor, MFS Investments Management, for putting on this great webinar on such an important and timely topic! Stay healthy, stay well, and don’t get burned out!

The Boathouse at Confluence Park and downtown Columbus did not disappoint on Thursday, September 5th when the Columbus Chapter of WiPN hosted speaker, Barb Smoot, President and CEO of WELD (Women for Economic and Leadership Development). The venue offered great views of the beautiful skyline that evening while Barb presented the topic, “The Keys to Joyful Living in the Middle of the Rat Race”.
WELD is an organization that develops and advances women’s leadership to strengthen the economic prosperity of the communities it serves. Barb provided all attendees with a worksheet to assess their gratitude, needs and accountability; as well as a great presentation and fun interaction on such an engaging and important topic. WELD will be holding a 2020 Women WELDing the Way Calendar Reception on Thursday, November 7th. More details on the event, Barb and her organization can be found at weldusa.org or weldoh.org.
On top of the great views and awesome presentation, everyone enjoyed networking and the Boathouse’s fabulous food and drinks! Our wonderful sponsors who made this event possible and deserve many thanks: Jeff Jones with Federated Investments, Courtney Lessick and Rob Martin of Crest Retirement, and Aaron Hassinger with PIMCO.
On Thursday, April 25th, the Columbus Chapter of WiPN hosted speaker Julie Graber, CEO of GenderEQA, at the beautiful Smith Brothers Hardware Building for a great evening to discuss “Women: Knowing Your Purpose, Finding Your Power, Reaching the Top.”
Julie’s organization uses data-driven tools of gender analysis and strategic assessment to measure gender equality. She provided attendees with the Social Change Model for Women’s Leadership, which allowed each woman to personalize their own approach. The model includes steps on Dignity, Authority, Accountability, Courage, Confidence and Purpose. You can find more about Julie and her gender equity audit at gendereqa.com.
The group enjoyed the table-top discussion, networking, delicious appetizers and the views of the Columbus skyline. This event couldn’t have been made possible without our Sponsors: Capital Equities; Chuck Hurst with Principal; Rob Martin, Courtney Lessick and Allanya Frank of Crest Retirement; and Hamilton Capital.
