New York City Event: “Women & Investment Habits” Panel

Please join us for a panel discussion featuring top female retirement plan industry leaders. Alison Cooke Mintzer, Editor-in-Chief of PLANSPONSOR, will moderate a panel featuring Christine Long, Head of Defined Contribution Marketing of PIMCO; Maura Coolican, Managing Director of Morgan Stanley; and Samantha Azzarello, Global Market Strategist of J.P. Morgan. Attendees will learn about the cultural shift of including women in the investment conversation. This event is open for women in the retirement plan industry as well as women interested in learning more about investments. The gathering will conclude with networking over drinks and light appetizers.

Alison Cooke Mintzer

Ms. Mintzer is publisher of ISS Media, with responsibility for PLANSPONSOR, PLANADVISER, and Chief Investment Officer and their magazines, research, websites, webcasts, email newsletters and conferences. Alison joined Asset International (now part of Institutional Shareholder Services) in 2003 and has served in a variety of editorial roles across PLANSPONSOR, PLANADVISER and Chief Investment Officer during her tenure. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from Boston University, with a concentration in economics and a minor in classical civilizations.

Ms. Long is a senior vice president and head of Retirement Marketing in PIMCO’s New York office. She is responsible for partnering with institutional and retail distribution channels and product strategy teams to develop strategic marketing initiatives and programs. Prior to joining PIMCO in April 2012, she held the role of second vice president at Guardian Life Insurance Company, where she was responsible for leading the marketing efforts for their 401(k), individual annuities and RS mutual funds businesses. Ms. Long was also with AllianceBernstein as director, in the retail marketing division, and with AXA Distributors as vice president of strategic relationship marketing. She also spent many years as a senior marketing professional within Citigroup companies, including Travelers Life & Annuity and Smith Barney. Ms. Long has more than 25 years of financial services experience and holds a bachelor’s degree from Manhattanville College in Purchase, NY.

Maura Troy Coolican

Ms. Coolican is a Managing Director and Head of Retirement Plan Solutions at Morgan Stanley. She leads the Corporate Retirement Services team and the Retirement Sales and Distribution teams that reside within the Morgan Stanley @ Work & Digital Solutions organization under Global Wealth Management. She is currently a member of the Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Committee as well as the Morgan Stanley @ Work & Digital Solutions Operating Committee. Maura earned her B.A. in Economics and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Samantha Azzarello

Ms. Azzarello is an Executive Director and a Global Market Strategist at J.P. Morgan Asset Management. She is passionate about simplifying the economy and markets for clients. Samantha is responsible for investing basics, where she focuses on behavioral economics and financial literacy, with an eye towards empowering better investment decisions. Samantha earned a MA in Economics from New York University, a BA in Economics from the University of Toronto and holds series 7 and 66 licenses.
