About Our Speakers
SVP Customer Experience
Sharon Scanlon is Senior Vice President, Head of Customer Experience, for Lincoln Financial Group’s Life and Annuity Operations and Retirement Plan Services businesses. She is responsible for furthering the company’s industry position as the insurance and retirement plan provider of choice for intermediaries, consumers and employers. Her team is comprised of 80 professionals who are focused on blending a high-touch and high-tech experience with strategy and omni-channel solutions to drive positive outcomes for our customers. Scanlon joined Lincoln in 2010 and has held leadership positions in both customer experience and product. She has more than 25 years of financial services and retirement industry experience. Prior to joining Lincoln, she held senior leadership positions with Fidelity Investments, Mercer HR Services and Putnam Investments. Scanlon received a Bachelor of Science degree in political science from Northeastern University and is FINRA Series 6, 7, 24 and 63 registered. She lives in Massachusetts with her husband and four children.
Participant Strategy and Development
Shannon Nutter-Wiersbitzky heads Participant Strategy and Development for Vanguard’s institutional business. In prior roles, she served as head of Institutional Marketing and as head of Market Research and Voice of Client for all U.S. and international businesses. She joined Vanguard in 2007 and has more than 15 years of experience in both consumer and B2B markets, focused on strategic planning, marketing, product development, business consulting, and market research. Additionally, she originated and led the development of My Classroom Economy® (myclassroomeconomy.org), a free program built by Vanguard volunteers for grades K through 12 that teaches children key life skills through experiential learning. Ms. Nutter-Wiersbitzky earned a B.A. from Macalester College and an M.B.A. from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
VP of Client Services
Katie Bachmann is a Vice President of Client Services at Ascensus responsible for the ongoing service delivery for Vanguard Retirement Plan Access. Since joining Ascensus in 2004, Katie has worked in various roles within the Client Operations and Client Service organizations. In these roles, Katie has had the opportunity to implement business process improvements and drive growth within the business. She currently is responsible for a team of over 120 consultants in Tucson, AZ and Dresher, PA. Katie earned her M.B.A. from LaSalle University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Gwynedd Mercy University.
